Cimarron of Quietude - Stallion At Stud Print E-mail

Acorn Morgan Horses

Cimarron_of_Quietude Morgan Horse Stallion

This handsome typey fellow combines the willingness and sense of the Brunk family with the toughness and sense of the Nekomias. He has the desirable Jubilee King sire line while the rest of his pedigree is Old Vermont, thus bringing together these two grand families and continuing the tradition of J. C. Brunk’s work of mating Daniel Lambert sires with Old Vermont mares. Cimarron brings to us the best of some of the old Lippitt breeding, combining the spirited Nekomia horses with the more easy going Ashbrook. In Cimarron’s dam we have many excellent breeding Morgans who were also talented using horses and who bring great beauty and type. Cimarron’s sire brings us the Jubilee King sire line coupled with more of the Old Vermont blood, some of it Lippitt, and all of it coming from good breeding horses. He brings to this century some excellent old blood of the previous century, often doing so very quickly. He brings a heritage of tough using horses who were bred for work and bred by people who truly knew the ancient Morgan.

Cimarron, foaled in 1986, was one of the later sons of that grand stallion, Criterion who was foaled in 1961. Criterion’s sire, Jubilee’s Courage, was foaled in 1944, and his sire, Jubilee King, was foaled in 1927. This is getting back to the old blood very quickly and from a long-lived line of horses.

Sequoia Red Zinfandel - Stallion At Stud Print E-mail

This truly Baroque style stallion is a double grandson of Sereno Firechief, one of Joanne Curtis’ breedings. This gives a rare source of her breeding which is highly valued by good breeders. Behind Zinnie are multiple crosses to Jubilee King, Linsley, Richard Sellman’s breeding, Red Vermont, and much of the grand old California ranch horses. Zinnie also has a cross to the old Devan breeding through his dam and there is some more Brunk through some different lines also found there.

Sequoia Red Zinfandel has never been shown; we have just used him as a breeding stallion. He would excel best in English, driving, and dressage because of his airy movement and length of stride. “Zinnie” has an awesome disposition and excellent conformation.  He is deep bodied and short coupled with a high-set tail and natural arch to his neck. And boy, can he JUMP!!!

Clarion of Quietude - Stallion At Stud Print E-mail

Canyon of Quietude, Morgan StallionThis grand old stallion has a pedigree that is rare due to the fact that every horse on the fourth generation was registered in Registry Volume 5 or earlier; that volume ends with the year 1937. This is getting back to the old blood very quickly. With his sire line being that of Jubilee King and one other cross to that great stallion, Clarion has the true Lambert traits of magnificent correct three gaits, Baroque style, correct conformation, good looks, excellent sense and much willingness. Both his parents were bred by Frances Bryant who was continuing what J. C. Brunk started by bringing together the Lambert and Old Vermont Morgan families. With his strong pedigree, it is no surprise that Clarion gives to his get all his good traits which are also those of his ancestors.

*Clarion is now retired.

CanDon Joshua Danny Print E-mail

Canyon of Quietude, Morgan StallionCanDon Joshua Danny, a handsome and correct palomino, brings a grand heritage to today, that of working and using Morgans of Baroque looks and good minds. He has shown English and Western and done well and also is a working horse in training colts, ponying them and helping with their first rides. He is a very good trail horse with sense and calmness. He has gone to clinics and done much to promote Morgans in his area. His sire Shatona Karzan brings a ranch heritage from California and Wyoming. There are good Sellman lines, Brunk lines and Old Midwest lines in his pedigree. Josh’s dam brings more Sellman and Brunk as well as some Old Vermont. She has a concentrated source of Red Vermont through Easter Vermont, that wonderfully correct and Baroque sire. Josh’s overall pedigree is well balanced and themed with the same ancestors appearing multiple times in many cases. This gives Josh a breeding strength to pass on the good using traits that is the heritage of the Morgan.

*For more information on Josh’s pedigree, see under his son, OGO Windswept Soleil.

Canyon of Quietude - Stallion At Stud Print E-mail

Canyon of Quietude, Morgan StallionThis handsome, correct, beautiful moving, and sensible even-tempered stallion brings to today the legacy of J. C. Brunk and his breeding program. With six close crosses to Jubilee King, the traits from Jubilee King are strongly fixed and passed on for the future. Canyon of Quietude also carries on the breeding wisdom of Frances Bryant and Eve Oakley who continued on in Brunk’s footsteps by continuing to meld the two families of the Daniel Lamberts and the Old Vermont Morgans. Brunk started with Daniel Lambert sires and bred them to selected Old Vermont High Percent mares. He then bred the original results carefully to one another and back to the original stock. Mrs. Bryant carried on this procedure with Jubilee King and his daughter Paragraph, and using some of the best of the Old Vermont stock of her time. Eve Oakley got her foundation horses from Mrs. Bryant and continued on with this proven breeding.
